The Power of Scent- Children in Nature

“Scent is the strongest tie to memory”.

“Scent is the most powerful memory trigger”.

“Nature exerting an unwearied power, forms, opens, and gives sent to every flower”.

“Apart from the obvious aspect of using scent to create a different feel or emotion to a zone or area, the research we’ve conducted shows clearly that aroma has a physiological effect in the first five seconds”.

“Scent is our most primitive sense, it’s the closest thing to the emotional brain. It penetrates you. You love it, and you want to be a part of it”.

“Memories triggered by scent have some of the strongest emotional connections and appear more intense than other memory triggers”.

The sense of smell is the most primal of all 6 senses. Scent is powerful as it can as it can drive human behaviour on a subconscious instinctive, and intuitive level. Luckily we all have the capability to harness the power of smell and use it to our advantage, and unfortunately most people undervalue this wonderful gift.

Marcel Proust’s research shows how smell is linked to early life experiences stored in the part of our brain; the neural networks.
Childhood memories linked to scent stay with people throughout life and are linked to emotions.

So next time you’re out in nature, become part of it, slow down and use your senses to feel and smell what is around you! You may be surprised how you may feel!
