Polish Red Cabbage
Ingredients:
1 head red cabbage (cored, thinly shredded)
1 small red onion (thinly cut)
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup broth
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
2 cloves garlic (crushed)
1 apple (peeled, cut into small pieces)
1/4 cup bone broth (see website for recipe)
Directions:
- Cook onion, garlic, apple in butter and oil. Add cabbage.
- In a small bowl combine apple cider vinegar, broth, brown sugar or honey, pepper and salt.
- Add mixture to cabbage and bring to a boil. Simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally until cabbage is tender.
- Place on plates and serve
